Job summary

MISO is seeking a spring 2027 co-op to work on analytical projects that inform decisions affecting electricity reliability and market dynamics. You will develop dashboards, analyze trends, and help shape long-term planning while collaborating across teams under mentorship.

Candidates are pursuing degrees in economics, engineering, data science, or public policy, with strong analytical skills and a willingness to engage in cross-functional initiatives.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Economics, Engineering, Data Science, Public Policy, or related degree.
• Strong critical thinking, research ability, and interest in strategy, policy, market dynamics, or risk assessment.
• Proficient in Visual Studio Code, GitHub, Power BI, PowerPoint, and commonly used analytical tools.
• Demonstrates curiosity, eagerness to learn, and strong collaboration values.
• Excited to work with real-world datasets, dashboards, trend reports, long-term planning materials, and strategic briefs.
• Can communicate clearly and synthesize insights for leadership audiences.

Responsibilities

• Work on meaningful, high-impact analytical projects that help MISO understand trends, load behaviors, market dynamics, and reliability implications.
• Contribute to real analyses such as reviewing load forecasts, evaluating risks, producing dashboards, and supporting cross-team initiatives.
• Work with your manager and mentor while connecting with a cross-departmental buddy to grow your network.
• Learn from industry experts during interactive lunch & learn sessions.
• Get involved beyond the desk with community service projects, social events, and networking opportunities.
• Wrap up your spring with a spotlight presentation of project findings and recommendations to department leaders and executives.
