Job description



SUMMARY




Mortenson is currently seeking a Welder that will be responsible for preparing, handling, and supplying materials, as well as setting up and performing welds of moderate complexity from blueprints and specifications.





RESPONSIBILITIES




Load and unload equipment and materials




Prepare, handle, and supply materials




Set up and perform welds of moderate complexity from blueprints and specifications




Assist engineering with prints and documentation design




Conduct daily activities according to quality system procedures and work instructions




Apply basic problem-solving techniques and troubleshooting for welding component parts




Perform general cleanup and debris clearing




Lift up to 50 lbs and walk a minimum of 10 miles a day in various weather conditions




Perform all other duties as assigned





QUALIFICATIONS






Welding certifications and/or technical training (required)




Minimum 1 year of experience as a welder (preferred)




Strong teamwork orientation




Knowledge of trade tools, equipment, materials, caliper, methods, and techniques for safe welding




Mechanical capacity and mathematical skills




Positive attitude and professional customer service skills




Ability to interpret blueprints, shop drawings, sketches, and production orders




Time management skills to meet schedules and time standards




Strong attention to quality, ability to work independently, and detail orientation




Active listening and effective communication skills, openness to diverse input and feedback




Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements




*Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
