Qualifications

What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

  1. Support transmission planning interconnection studies for operational and development portfolio needs
  2. Facilitate power flow, stability, and dynamic analysis using tools such as PSS/E, TARA, PSCAD, PSLF, and PowerWorld
  3. Engage in renewable energy and battery storage interconnection application models
  4. Develop and build automation tools in Python, SQL, and/or MS Excel for data analysis
  5. Support renewable interconnection stakeholder engagement, including utilities, RTOs, and ISOs

What is Required (Qualifications):

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering
  2. Power flow modeling experience with tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN, MUST, TARA, and/or PowerWorld
  3. Understanding of the transmission interconnection application process
  4. Familiarity with electricity market policy and rules related to interconnection and transmission planning
  5. Experience working with ISOs (Independent System Operators) and/or RTOs (Regional Transmission Organizations)

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

  1. Exposure to economic transmission market planning and analysis using tools like PROMOD, GridView, UPlan, or Plexos
  2. Working knowledge of utility-scale renewable energy operations, including wind, solar, and energy storage
  3. Strong communication and presentation skills with a solution-driven attitude
