What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Support transmission planning interconnection studies for operational and development portfolio needs
- Facilitate power flow, stability, and dynamic analysis using tools such as PSS/E, TARA, PSCAD, PSLF, and PowerWorld
- Engage in renewable energy and battery storage interconnection application models
- Develop and build automation tools in Python, SQL, and/or MS Excel for data analysis
- Support renewable interconnection stakeholder engagement, including utilities, RTOs, and ISOs
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering
- Power flow modeling experience with tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN, MUST, TARA, and/or PowerWorld
- Understanding of the transmission interconnection application process
- Familiarity with electricity market policy and rules related to interconnection and transmission planning
- Experience working with ISOs (Independent System Operators) and/or RTOs (Regional Transmission Organizations)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Exposure to economic transmission market planning and analysis using tools like PROMOD, GridView, UPlan, or Plexos
- Working knowledge of utility-scale renewable energy operations, including wind, solar, and energy storage
- Strong communication and presentation skills with a solution-driven attitude
