Energy Storage Real-time Power Trading Analyst
Locations: FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA)

They are at the forefront of the industry, with a nationwide portfolio of over 9GW+ of projects, including a fleet of grid-connected standalone battery storage assets.
The Real-time Power Trading Analyst will help optimize energy trading performance and forecast revenues for active assets. The ideal candidate will demonstrate initiative, focus, and analytical discipline.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in daily trading execution and administrative tasks under the VP of Trading & Risk, including support for market participation, performance KPIs (e.g., MAPE), and aligning realized vs. expected PnL with Settlement Analysts.
- Analyze performance across markets and conditions, working with Market Managers. Develop fundamentals-based price forecasts for ERCOT & ISO-NE, considering supply/demand, congestion, and fuel prices.
- Gather and analyze market data (via API, web scraping) to inform and optimize BESS trading strategies. Utilize Python models to improve bidding efficiency and profitability in day-ahead and real-time markets.
- Support internal teams by delivering training on trading procedures and ensuring compliance with operational protocols and market rules.
- Monitor and evaluate market rule changes in ERCOT and ISO-NE to understand their impact on trading strategies and system performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Computer Science preferred) with at least 2 years of relevant experience in the energy sector; experience with power settlement, especially in ERCOT and ISO-NE, is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Python, SQL, and PowerBI is preferred. Familiarity with battery energy storage systems (BESS) is a plus.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze data, define problems, and draw valid conclusions from complex datasets.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences. Proven ability to collaborate across dispersed teams.
- Location Requirement: Must be able to commute to The Woodlands, Texas.
