About the role

We are searching for an Energy Storage Project Engineer for a 1‑year W‑2 contract assignment. The Utility Scale Energy Storage team seeks a Project Engineer with a passion for renewable energy and experience in energy storage. The role will design, plan, and manage energy storage projects, select equipment, coordinate engineering resources, support logistics and construction, conduct technical due diligence, propose storage solutions, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maximize battery energy storage system performance. This position requires strong project management skills, technical expertise, and the ability to lead cross‑functional teams.

Location: Juno Beach, FL 33408. 25% travel is required.

Compensation: $65.00/hr – $70.00/hr, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Support design phase and engineer major components for large‑scale energy storage projects.
• Identify inconsistencies in engineering drawings, take corrective action, and improve design quality and efficiency.
• Resolve errors in engineering studies and suggest future solutions.
• Prepare technical scopes of work for contracts.
• Support projects from creation to completion by working with project managers.
• Influence project teams on engineering tasks.
• Track project progress and technical issues.
• Manage project milestones and recognize risks.
• Collaborate with suppliers to integrate major equipment.
• Work with diverse teams to improve integration of systems and controls.
• Understand specifications for major equipment purchasing and propose solutions.
• Understand permitting requirements, propose solutions to legal challenges, and recommend site design improvements.
• Handle other assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical engineering, or related field from an ABET‑accredited program.
• 5+ years of proven engineering experience.
