Job summary

SOLV Energy, Inc. is seeking an Energy Storage Preconstruction Project Manager to lead a single project with cross-functional collaboration across engineering, scheduling, budgeting and closeout documentation.

The role is fully remote and requires coordination with multiple departments to plan and direct project work. Responsibilities include cost control, writing procedures, supervising engineers, liaising with owners, and reporting on cost forecasts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of energy storage construction experience.
• Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience.
• Field experience (5-8 years) as Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.
• Leadership to coordinate a remote, diverse team into a cohesive, high-performing unit.
• Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with Bluebeam Revu or similar tools.
• Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25%.

• Represent SOLV Energy in owner meetings.
• Support estimating reconciliation for each design iteration.
• Maintain timely reporting on cost forecasting and cost at completion.
• Develop mitigation plans for identified project risks with the team.

Job description

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide. The Energy Storage Preconstruction Project Manager will provide leadership and oversight to an individual project. They will collaborate with multiple departments in planning, organizing, and directing the project work across our team, including engineering, scheduling, change management, budgeting, and closeout project documentation.

This role is fully remote. This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; Able to perform all Preconstruction Project Manager job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cost control ledger and job cost statements
• Write project procedures
• Supervise and train Preconstruction Project Engineers and clerical staff
• Collaborate with the business development, engineering, accounting, construction, and legal departments to create contract scopes of work
• Work with Engineering and Procurement to understand design constraints and material lead-times to ensure long lead procurement items are appropriately released during the LNTP phase
• Research and understand project specific design requirements (internal requirements, owner/contract requirements, and permit requirements)
• Liaison with the Engineering Manager to track changes that impact project schedule and/or budget and provide those changes to the Project Executive
• Represent SOLV Energy in owner meetings
• Support estimating reconciliation for each design iteration
• Maintain timely and accurate reporting to the Project Team and management, specifically cost forecasting and estimated cost at completion
• Effectively manage project risk; evaluate probability and severity of risk events as they are identified / anticipated and prepare mitigation plans with project team operations management
• Develop and maintain good relationship with Owner, Engineers, Vendors and Subcontractors; develop strategies and skills to build a strong partnership with the Owner, while still ensuring prompt owner notification of impacts and preservation of rights under the EPC

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Energy Storage Construction Experience.
• Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience
• Field experience (5-8 years, Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent)
• Leadership ability – able to pull together team members from diverse backgrounds in a remote environment and organize them into a cohesive, high-performing project team
• Strong computer skills with MS Office suite, as well as other industry-standard tools, such as Bluebeam Revu
• Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting
• Able to travel (estimated 25%)
