Job description

Energy Storage O&M Site Manager

Locations: FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the Southern Texas Region)

This opportunity is with an industry-leading renewable energy venture and IPP backed by private equity, focused on developing and executing utility-scale energy storage projects. The company has accumulated over 9GW+ of projects and is in an expansion phase.

This is a critical role working directly with the Corporate Asset Operations, EPC, and Construction teams, managing third-party contractors to oversee high-voltage field operations, maintenance, and testing activities for utility-scale battery storage assets.

The role requires experience in supporting technical engineering initiatives for renewable energy projects, managing on-site equipment, warranty processes, and compliance with NERC/ERCOT standards. Travel within Southern Texas is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Support all high-voltage and electrical operations for renewable assets in Texas.
2. Lead technical support for start-up, commissioning, testing, and outage planning.
3. Manage NERC/ERCOT documentation, switching orders, and LOTO procedures.
4. Provide emergency support for Balance of Plant operations.
5. Lead BESS maintenance and compliance inspections.
6. Support HV equipment such as inverters, circuit breakers, relays, switchgears, and substations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4-6+ years of experience with HV electrical systems, including maintenance, testing, and commissioning.
• Management or leadership experience for supervisor roles.
• Experience managing third-party contractors at utility-scale sites.
• Knowledge of high-voltage substations, relay protection, BESS, and transmission systems.
• Ability to interpret schematics and electrical diagrams.
• Knowledge of electrical SCADA systems, OSHA guidelines, and LOTO procedures.
• Relevant roles include O&M Site Manager, HV Supervisor, Substation Tech, etc.
