Job summary

Con Edison seeks a focused Energy Storage Engineer to drive integration of battery energy storage systems into operational platforms. You will work with DERMS, SCADA, EMS, and PI Historian to support monitoring, control, and performance optimization across the company’s energy storage assets.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with planning, engineering, IT, and regulatory teams to deliver reliable, scalable energy storage solutions and to shape the long-term integration roadmap.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 3+ years of experience; or Master's with 2+ years of experience.
• Experience in energy storage, DERs, or utility operations preferred.
• Knowledge of DERMS, SCADA, EMS, PI Historian, or ADMS is desirable.
• Experience supporting Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) operations, monitoring, or troubleshooting preferred.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Support integration of energy storage resources with company systems (DERMS, SCADA, EMS, PI Historian).
• Assist with O&M activities for BESS, including performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, procedures, and technical standards.
• Develop dashboards, telemetry, and reports to support energy storage operations.
• Monitor data to identify opportunities for reliability and operational improvements.
• Prepare technical reports, regulatory responses, and business documentation.
