Summary:

Barr is seeking an energy storage engineer to join our electrical engineering team and support our facility, utility, industrial, fuels, and mining clients. This role involves working on multidisciplinary project teams, assisting with energy-storage business development across various market opportunities. The candidate will analyze market trends, help develop our energy-storage strategy, and may require up to 25% travel for out-of-town assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
2. 10+ years of relevant experience
3. Ability and willingness to work collaboratively in a high-energy environment
4. Flexible working style to meet deadlines and client needs
5. Strong technical, problem-solving, and communication skills
6. Attention to detail and accuracy
7. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
8. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
9. Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to develop technical solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience with energy storage applications and lifecycle demands
2. Experience with the power industry or utilities
3. PE license or ability to obtain within a year
4. Proficiency with energy and financial modeling
5. Knowledge of other renewable markets and technologies

A hybrid work arrangement may be available, allowing split time between a Barr office and home. Suitable locations include Ann Arbor or Grand Rapids, MI; Denver or Fort Collins, CO; Duluth or Minneapolis, MN; Salt Lake City, UT.

Compensation:

The base salary range is $115,000-$140,000/year. Compensation varies based on experience and skills. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, and Barr distributes profits through bonuses and an ESOP.
