Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an Electrical Helper to safely assist Electrical Laborers and Journeyman with material handling, assembling and dismantling equipment, and preparing work areas. The role requires reading safety regulations, blueprints, and schematics, plus operating drills, pumps, and other tools.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and a wage range of $30.00–$36.00 per hour, with higher rates in select locations.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, blueprints and schematic drawings; ability to work with tools, such as power and non-powered hand tools; ability to work with equipment such as vibrators, pumps, drills and jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies.
• Current driver’s license is required.
• Ability to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions; ability to handle materials up to 50 lbs; strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills.
• Detail oriented; strong listening and communication skills; open to diverse input and feedback.

Summary

Mortenson is currently seeking an Electrical Helper that will be responsible for safely assisting Electrical Laborers and Journeyman with material handling, assembling and dismantling of equipment, preparing work areas, and cleaning of machines and workspaces.

Responsibilities

• Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit utilizing various hand tools
• Safely utilize hand and power tools after proper training (drills, crimpers, cutters, etc.)
• Lift, position, and fasten objects
• Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools to be used by electrical trades
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment
• Work under immediate and close supervision according to standard instructions and established procedures
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned
