Job summary

LG Energy Solution Vertech, Inc. is seeking a Controls Software Engineer to design and maintain control software for AEROS EMS and Power Plant Controller platforms in a hybrid Westborough, MA environment.

You’ll work with a cross-functional team on modeling, implementation, and testing to solve grid-scale energy storage challenges. The role requires strong power systems and control fundamentals, plus hands-on C++ and Linux experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or closely related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement control algorithms for commercial and grid-scale battery energy storage systems.
• Develop, integrate, and maintain real-time control software in a Linux environment, using C++ and model-based code generation.
• Use AI-assisted tools to support development, analysis, documentation, and testing, while reviewing outputs and ensuring correctness.
• Develop simulation models to analyze system behavior and evaluate control performance.
• Develop and execute controls software tests in simulation and on lab or project-site systems.
• Investigate system performance issues, identify root causes, and support customer/project needs.
• Maintain clear documentation of control designs, decisions, tests, and results.
• Collaborate with SQA to define verification methods and build repeatable tests.
• Work with program managers and project engineers to deliver control functionality that meets requirements.
