Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Commissioning Manager I in the Energy Storage group to drive commissioning across large, complex projects. The role requires independent judgment to adapt commissioning techniques and criteria, with 50% remote work and 50% travel to project sites across the US.

Responsibilities include developing commissioning plans, leading field tests, drafting issue resolutions, and training teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or 10+ years of field experience.
• Minimum six years in construction management or commissioning, preferably with an MEP contractor or commissioning firm.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.

Responsibilities

• Review scope and provide detailed comments and recommendations.
• Develop commissioning specifications and plans, checklists, and tests for systems.
• Lead field visits, inspections, tests, and provide technical guidance.
• Draft technical documents and reports, meetings notes, and lessons learned.
• Conduct training sessions and coordinate across disciplines.
• Collaborate with project team to verify scope intent and maintain relationships.
• Plan and execute system tests including NETA, SCADA, and controls; manage team performance.
