Job summary

Prairieland FS, Inc. seeks an Energy Service Technician to install, service, and maintain energy systems including propane tanks, fuel, and related equipment for residential, agricultural, and commercial customers.

You will diagnose issues, perform inspections, and ensure safe operations while adhering to safety guidelines and company policies. The role requires obtaining a CDL with HazMat and Tanker endorsements within six months, staying compliant with industry standards, and delivering

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
  • CDL with HazMat/Tanker endorsements within six months of hire.
  • Ability to obtain industry-recognized energy sector certifications within six months.
  • Residence within assigned geography; willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Install, service, and maintain energy systems (propane tanks, fuel, equipment).
  • Conduct system inspections, diagnostics, and repairs for reliability.
  • Follow safety guidelines and regulatory standards at all times.
  • Perform routine safety checks to ensure standards compliance.
  • Assist with delivering energy products to customer locations as needed.
  • Monitor inventory and schedules to meet customer demand.
  • Interact professionally with customers and explain product safety.
  • Build relationships by delivering tailored solutions.
  • Operate gauges, meters, and testing devices; maintain vehicles and tanks.
  • Collaborate with team members to support operations and goals.

Job description

The Energy Service Technician plays a critical role in delivering, installing, and maintaining energy systems and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations for residential, agricultural, and commercial customers. This position focuses on handling propane, fuel, and other energy-related products, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards while providing outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, service, and maintain energy systems, including propane tanks, fuel, and equipment.
  • Conduct system inspections, diagnostics, and repairs to address customer needs and ensure system reliability.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, industry regulations, and company policies to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Perform routine safety checks on energy systems and equipment to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Assist with safely delivering energy products, such as propane and fuel, to customer locations as needed.
  • Monitor and manage product inventory and delivery schedules to meet customer demands efficiently.
  • Interact professionally with customers, providing guidance on safe energy use and answering questions about products or services.
  • Build positive relationships by delivering solutions tailored to individual customer needs.
  • Operate specialized tools and equipment, including gauges, meters, and testing devices.
  • Maintain and repair company vehicles, tanks, and other equipment as required.
  • Work closely with other team members to support operations and meet service goals.
Required Qualifications And Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or equivalent certification in energy systems or a related field preferred.
  • Obtain a valid CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with required endorsements (e.g., HazMat, Tanker) within six months of employment and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to obtain, within six months, and maintain applicable professional certifications associated with the energy industry.
  • Must reside within the geography assigned when an employment opportunity is presented.Follow safety and compliance standards to help ensure their well-being and the safety of others.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of propane, fuel, and energy systems is an advantage.
  • The role involves physical labor, including lifting and moving heavy products.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • This position requires driving for extended periods and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to work hours other than those considered normal at various times throughout the year to meet deadlines and demands.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on safety and compliance.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
