Job summary

Power System Engineering seeks an Energy Resources Consultant to advise utilities, developers, and energy organizations on power supply strategy, energy markets, and distributed energy solutions. This role blends client engagement with technical consulting to deliver data-driven outcomes.

Hybrid work options are available from several US offices or remote. Candidates should have 10+ years in electric utility consulting and strong modeling skills with DER/BESS knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, finance, energy systems, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on power supply strategy and procurement, including RFP development and contract analysis.
• Conduct energy market analysis related to ISO/RTO participation, pricing trends, congestion, and risk exposure.
• Develop and support IRP studies, including load forecasting and portfolio modeling.
• Perform financial and economic modeling to assess feasibility, risk, and long-term value.
• Lead business case development for DER, including BESS and VPP initiatives.
• Evaluate DER opportunities across capacity, resilience, and grid optimization.
• Serve as owner’s representative during procurement, including RFP coordination and contract negotiations.
• Build and maintain client relationships while supporting business development and proposals.
