Job summary

Dow Jones Energy is seeking an Energy Market Analyst to support the Chemical Market Analytics (CMA) team in publishing market reports, client presentations, and project work. You will collect data from industry sources and train clients on the CMA website and databases.

You will interact with international product experts, maintain the chemical capacity database, and prepare materials for travel. Requires Power BI, Python, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years' work experience in a market research, data analytics, engineering, or manufacturing company.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Power BI and Python for data analysis and reporting.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Experience with ThinkCell or similar add-in is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and maintain data from external sources for market analysis.
  • Update and maintain Excel-based models and databases.
  • Edit and publish chemical market reports from the CMS to the website.
  • Proofread and format text for market reports.
  • Create presentation materials in PowerPoint for client meetings.

About the Role

As Energy Market Analyst, you will support Dow Jones Energy's Chemical Market Analytics (CMA) team in the publication of market reports, client/conference presentations, and project work. You will interact with clients in providing data, information, and training on the CMA website and online databases. You will conduct research and collect data from industry associations and other data providers. You will assist with the maintenance of the chemical capacity database. You will also work closely with teams of international product experts and colleagues from other product areas. You will report to the Research Coordinator - Team Lead.

You Will
  • Gather and maintain data from external sources for market analysis
  • Update and maintain Excel-based models and databases
  • Edit and publish our chemical market reports from the content management system to our website
  • Proofread and format text written for market reports
  • Fulfill data requests and answer client questions
  • Create presentation materials in Microsoft PowerPoint for client meetings and conferences
  • Prepare materials for product expert travel
  • Support operations endeavors to improve and maintain work processes and standardization
  • Effectively self-manage and juggle multiple projects simultaneously to meet competing deadlines
You Have
  • 1-2 years' work experience in a market research, data analytics, engineering, or manufacturing company
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Power BI and Python for data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to troubleshoot Python code
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience with ThinkCell or similar add-in (considered a strong plus)
  • Degree in Chemical engineering, chemistry, natural science (preferred) or related discipline -OR- equivalent work experience
