Job summary

Sigma Earth is seeking an experienced Senior Energy & Renewables leader to shape the vision and growth of its Energy & Renewables practice. You will provide strategic and financial leadership, mentoring a multidisciplinary team across projects, and drive client engagements across utilities, developers, and agencies.

The role requires deep sector knowledge, strong leadership, and a track record in delivering energy infrastructure or renewables projects, with willingness to travel to client sites

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • 8+ years of progressive energy/renewables experience with leadership responsibilities.
  • Willingness to travel to other offices, project sites, and client meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the vision, strategy, and growth plans for the Energy & Renewables practice.
  • Provide financial, operational, and technical leadership for the Energy & Renewables group.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor professionals across energy disciplines.
  • Develop and retain high-performing team members through coaching and resourcing.
  • Support annual business planning, budgeting, revenue forecasting, and staffing plans.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across renewable energy and energy infrastructure.
  • Build relationships with utilities, developers, agencies, and key partners.
  • Oversee workload planning, project staffing, and resource allocation.
  • Provide guidance on project/account management, scope/schedule/budget/risk.
  • Support proposal strategy, staffing plans, and fee estimates.
  • Participate in contract discussions and client presentations.
  • Recruit and attract strong technical and leadership talent.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Work with Business Center and Sector Leadership to define and execute the vision, strategy, and growth plans for the Energy & Renewables practice.
  • Provide financial, operational, and technical leadership for the Energy & Renewables group within the Business Center.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor professionals across energy disciplines, supporting their development, performance, and career growth.
  • Develop and retain high-performing team members through coaching, training, effective resourcing, and succession planning.
  • Support annual business planning, budgeting, revenue forecasting, and staffing plans based on market demand.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across renewable energy, power delivery, and energy infrastructure markets.
  • Build and strengthen strategic relationships with utilities, developers, agencies, and key industry partners across the region.
  • Oversee workload planning, project staffing, and resource allocation to ensure quality delivery and strong financial performance.
  • Provide guidance on project and account management, including scope, schedule, budget, and risk control.
  • Support proposal strategy, development, and review, including technical approach, staffing plans, and fee estimates.
  • Participate in contract discussions, pricing development, and client presentations.
  • Recruit and attract strong technical and leadership talent to support long-term growth of the practice.
Capabilities and Credentials
  • Strong understanding of the energy and renewables sector, including regional market trends, regulations, and emerging technologies.
  • Proven technical leadership in planning, designing, and delivering energy infrastructure or renewable energy projects, along with project management and contract administration experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and business development experience, with the ability to grow revenue and manage complex multidisciplinary teams.
  • Existing relationships with utilities, developers, agencies, or other major energy-sector stakeholders are highly preferred.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and team-building skills, with the ability to lead effectively in a matrixed organization.
  • Strategic, results-driven mindset with strong integrity and commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in the energy or renewable energy sector, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Willingness to travel to other offices, project sites, and client meetings as needed.
