The attorney will advise utilities, energy companies, developers, and other industry participants on sophisticated regulatory and transactional matters in electric generation, transmission, interconnection, and large-load projects. The role emphasizes drafting and negotiating PPAs and interconnection agreements, as well as advising on FERC

Qualifications

  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • 4–6 years of experience in energy transactions, energy regulation, or closely related practice.
  • Strong academic credentials and excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on energy-sector transactional and regulatory matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
  • Handle Interconnection Agreements involving generation, transmission, and load.
  • Assist with Large Load matters and electric service arrangements.
  • Draft and negotiate electric service agreements and related commercial contracts.
  • Advise clients on transmission service matters and industry-specific transactions.
  • Research and analyze federal and state energy regulations.
  • Assist with matters involving FERC and state utility regulators.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across regulatory and transactional practices.
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding legal and regulatory issues.
