Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University seeks an Energy Quality Specialist to provide technical leadership, quality assurance, and program consistency for PennTAP's energy assessment services. This role reviews and standardizes assessment reports, calculations, recommendations, and deliverables to ensure accuracy and alignment with PennTAP methodologies and client needs.

Reporting to the Associate Director, the Energy Quality Specialist supports quality control, staff development, and continuous

Qualifications

Knowledge of industrial energy systems, manufacturing processes, utility systems, and energy efficiency technologies.
Experience reviewing technical reports, engineering analyses, and energy calculations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quality assurance skills.
Excellent attention to detail and technical accuracy.
Ability to interpret engineering data, standards, and documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication with mentorship ability.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and multitasking across priorities.

Responsibilities

Review energy assessment reports, calculations, and technical documentation for accuracy and consistency.
Verify that recommendations and savings estimates are supported by data and standards.
Evaluate ECMs and process improvements for technical validity and practicality.
Develop and maintain quality control procedures, templates, and tools.
Provide technical guidance and support onboarding/training of advisors.
Track quality metrics and report improvement opportunities.
