Job summary

Cupertino Electric, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support field and project teams on large electrical construction programs. The role emphasizes coordination with Project Engineers, field crews, and customers to drive timely delivery and accurate documentation.

You will help manage submittals, change orders, and project logs while aligning with the Project Manager to maintain schedule and cost controls in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or similar preferred.
• Three (3) or more years of experience specifically as a Project Engineer in electrical construction, or MEP experience in general contracting.
• Minimum five (5)+ years of related experience, including some time managing smaller projects.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Lead the coordination between field team, project team, and customers; guide Project Engineers and Project Coordinators with the Project Manager.
• Gather data with scheduling to populate CEI schedule and track project activities.
• Identify cost impacts with RFIs, submittals, and design changes; notify promptly.
• Price change orders consistently and timely for PM review and approval.
• Manage close-out documents and coordinate commissioning with third party; track open items.
• Maintain partnerships with vendors/subcontractors; coordinate material releases and delivery with schedule.
