Job summary

Meta is seeking a skilled Energy Portfolio Manager to own and optimize Meta's clean energy contracts and carbon credit program. You will manage amendments, ensure contract compliance, and monitor project performance across development, construction, and operation stages.

You will collaborate with legal, finance, and procurement teams, analyze energy generation and financial data, and drive improvements through dashboards and AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

Job description

Summary:

In this role, you will be a key contributor to Meta's Global Energy Team, specifically the Clean Energy Asset Management Team. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clean and renewable energy contracts and as needed, carbon reduction or carbon removal agreements, including: supporting/leading negotiations for amendments, ensuring contract compliance, monitoring project development and construction status, and reporting on financial and operational performance for operating projects. You will have the opportunity to master contract details, analyze financial and operational project performance, resolve disputes, and propose solutions.

Required Skills:

Energy Portfolio Manager, Pre-Operational Assets Responsibilities:

1. Serve as the ongoing owner for all of Meta's executed clean energy and carbon credit requirements


2. Create, maintain, update documents and data related to clean and renewable energy contracts


3. Track counterparty compliance with contract milestones and other deliverables


4. Respond to counterparty inquiries and manage contract amendments, collateral, force majeure claims, and other issues as needed


5. Surface and resolve issues in ongoing contracts and project operations


6. Track and analyze clean energy operational project performance


7. Track and analyze renewable energy financial project performance


8. Track project progress through development and construction milestones, and lead risk reporting against schedule and forecast


9. Manage the approval and signature process for contract documents after execution


10. Support invoicing and reporting on clean energy contracts, and ensure that RECs, costs, and project performance are consistent with contract terms and conditions


11. Coordinate with legal counsel, finance, accounting, purchasing, accounts payable/receivable, and other key stakeholders

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in business, energy, or environmental science, paralegal studies, or a similar field


2. 5+ years of experience in clean energy contract management, renewable energy procurement, or energy project operations at organizations such as a corporate renewable energy buyer, IPP, owner operator, electric utility, energy supplier, or an energy-intensive industrial or consumer company


3. Experience in managing a portfolio of renewable energy contracts, especially wind and solar energy supply contracts


4. Experience drafting official correspondence between counterparties and experience developing and maintaining partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders


5. Experience with G Suite, Excel, Word, and Tableau


6. Experience in building cross-functional relationships


7. Experience in analyzing and interpreting energy generation data, virtual PPAs, green tariffs, and wholesale energy market data

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience developing portfolio-level reporting and dashboards


2. Experience communicating complex contractual and technical issues to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., through executive summaries, briefing documents, or status reports)


3. Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to optimize and redesign workflows, driving measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)


4. 8+ years of experience in clean energy contracts and/or asset management, renewable energy origination, or energy project operations


5. Proven experience in tracking utility-scale generation and storage development and construction milestones, including interconnection, permitting, and EPC schedules


6. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)


7. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies


8. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)


9. Experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems

Public Compensation:

$132,000/year to $188,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
