Job summary

NextEra Energy Marketing, LLC seeks an experienced compliance professional to coordinate SOX, CFTC and FERC compliance activities across the NEER units. The role works with business units to implement sustainable compliance practices and supports internal/external audits.

You will monitor regulatory reporting, develop controls, and partner with legal, audit, and risk groups to drive a culture of compliance within a fast-paced energy trading environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or equivalent experience required; 8+ years of experience preferred.
• High School Grad/GED is required; leadership experience at least 2+ years.
• Strong understanding of SOX, CFTC and FERC requirements is expected.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate internal and external audits and regulatory inquiries.
• Edit and implement policies, procedures, processes, and controls to meet compliance.
• Monitor trading activity and reporting obligations under FERC/CFTC.
• Collaborate with General Counsel, Internal Audit, CRO, FRA and other groups.
• Develop processes to identify potential market manipulation and escalate when needed.
• Prepare annual compliance reports for management and regulatory agencies.
• Assist in risk assessments, rule impact analyses and testing controls.
• Support IT enhancements and data reporting (Power BI, SQL).
• Provide updates to Director and VP regarding compliance efforts.
• Complete ad hoc compliance projects as assigned.
