Job summary

Caturus, a Houston-based energy platform, seeks an Analyst, Risk to monitor market risk exposures and support data-driven decision-making across trading, middle office, and finance teams.

You will help maintain risk reporting frameworks, perform analyses, and contribute to risk mitigation efforts in natural gas, LNG, and related markets. Collaboration is essential with IT, trading, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in risk, middle office, trading support, financial analysis, or project controls.
• Exposure to natural gas, LNG, or commodities markets preferred.
• Experience in Monte-Carlo simulations and volatility/correlation estimations; SQL, Python and VBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor market, and operational risk exposures across natural gas, LNG, and related energy markets
• Perform sensitivity, scenario, and stress analysis to evaluate potential impacts on portfolio performance
• Assist in identifying emerging risks and flagging issues to the Risk Manager
• Support monitoring of trading positions, exposure limits, and key risk metrics (e.g., variance analysis)
• Work with IT, Back Office, Credit, Traders and Schedulers to resolve issues
• Assist in evaluating hedging strategies and structured transactions with Trading and Origination teams
• Analyze market trends, pricing data, and supply/demand fundamentals to provide risk insights
• Support maintenance of risk registers and mitigation plans across LNG and energy projects
• Prepare regular risk reports, dashboards, and ad hoc analyses for leadership
• Support risk control processes related to trade capture, valuation, and reporting
• Assist with reconciliations and data validation to ensure accuracy
