Job summary

Diamondback Energy in Oklahoma City offers an IT internship designed to build hands-on experience across application development, reporting, analytics, data integration, and cyber security. The 12-week program (May–August 2027) places you with an experienced mentor and cross-functional IT teams, culminating in a presentation to Diamondback’s executive team.

Qualifications

Must have strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills.
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in MIS, CS, or a similar discipline.
Must be willing to work in Oklahoma City, OK for the duration of the internship.
Must be returning to school for Fall 2027 semester.

Responsibilities

Work on an assigned IT project during the summer and present to Diamondback’s executive team.
Develop IT skills under mentorship from an experienced guide.
Collaborate with IT and other teams to understand usage of IT systems and drive business outcomes.
Participate in release management activities and daily stand-up calls with IT teams.
Review key IT controls for cyber security and SOX compliance.
Provide compliance and administrative support to the department.
Participate in intern events and community activities in Oklahoma City.
