Job summary

LS Power is seeking an Associate to join its Private Equity team in NYC. You will participate in the investment and portfolio management process across generation, transmission and energy platforms.

Responsibilities include building financial models, due diligence, data analysis, and preparing materials for investment committees, with collaboration across energy marketing, asset management, legal and tax teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, economics, business, engineering, or related field.
• Experience in private equity, investment banking, or management consulting is required.
• Strong leadership, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work with limited supervision in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint with financial modelling capabilities.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills and knowledge of corporate finance.

Responsibilities

• Support execution of investment, financing, and monetization activities.
• Active involvement in financing activities to support acquisitions, refinancings, and development.
• Develop presentation materials for investment committee memos and other audiences.
• Inform internal views on new subsectors and technologies through modeling and research.
• Collaborate with LS Power teams across disciplines including energy trading, asset management, legal, tax, and accounting.
• Work with portfolio companies on financings, development, tack-on acquisitions, and monetization opportunities.
