Job summary

Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. is seeking an analyst to join the forecasting team for Liberty Utilities.

You will participate in the development, presentation and defense of the gas forecast for Liberty’s service territories using econometric methods and will support internal business customers including Gas Supply, Regulatory, Strategy, Fuel Accounting, etc. You will develop datasets, provide data-driven analyses, and stay current on regulatory requirements and market trends while

Qualifications

• University Degree
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; strong communication (oral & written)
• Experience in quantitative, data-driven environment
• Knowledge of database structures and querying tools
• Highly proficient with Excel
• Ability to design rich data visualizations to communicate complex ideas
• Detail-oriented, motivated, willing to learn

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain datasets to support forecasting and reporting
• Create data-driven analyses and provide actionable recommendations
• Prepare bi-weekly storage reports for planning purposes
• Update forecast processes and documentation for transparency and reproducibility
• Assist in development of gas demand forecast using econometric methods
• Stay current on policies, regulatory requirements and market trends
• Respond to data requests from internal customers and regulatory bodies
• Collaborate with internal teams on forecast methodology and needs
