Job summary

Job Description

This is a multi-level job posting and will be filled at the appropriate level based on experience.

Develops, implements, and manages energy efficiency programs and initiatives. Keeps abreast of new technology, ensures implementation of changes to programs, and ensures that existing programs and procedures comply with current requirements. Additionally, this position also assists in development, enhancement and implementation of information systems used by energy efficiency in the design, evaluation, and implementation of programs.

Responsibilities

Implement energy efficiency and/or demand response programs. Comply with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the programs. Monitor program performance and maintain highest levels of operational excellence. Obtain customer and trade ally feedback regarding program performance. Ensure programs meet and exceed customer needs and regulatory requirements. Achieve energy efficiency and/or demand response program goals including financial, participation and energy savings objectives. Evaluate, assess, and document program performance. Develop and/or revise advertising/promotional strategies, incentive levels and program parameters as appropriate and implement. If appropriate, assist in developing program modifications. Document program changes. Coordinate appropriate resources to accomplish objectives. (50%)

Plan and develop energy efficiency and/or demand response activities in coordination with company strategy. Assist in developing new energy efficiency and demand response plans. Research customer and trade ally needs regarding new program offerings; develop program implementation plans; coordinate assigned resources to accomplish objectives. (5%)

Assist in the development of analyses for annual reporting purposes and for energy efficiency and demand response plan development. Prepare cost/benefit analyses for custom energy efficiency projects, where applicable, necessary for project development. (5%)

Assist in developing, enhancing, and implementing energy efficiency information systems. Troubleshoot end user computer system problems and develop solutions. (5-10%)

Prepare reports and analyses of energy efficiency and/or demand response projects and program information as requested. Assist in analyzing and evaluating program results and making recommendations regarding program design, enhancement, and implementation. (5-10%)

Assist in the collaboration with regulatory parties and stakeholders on maintaining the Iowa Technical Reference (TRM) manual. (0-10%)

Assists with regulatory and financial reporting. Continually monitor financial and budgetary goals. (5-10%)

Provide leadership to other employees, departments, contracted vendors and/or consultants and trade allies involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs. (5%)

Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (5-10%)

Qualifications

(Typically six years of related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor's degree.)
  • At least four years’ experience in product/project management, business, marketing, communications, engineering, or finance desired.

  • Experience in managing and leading complex, cross-functional projects including developing marketing and communications plans, project scope, budget, and evaluation. Managing regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement and vendor contract management.
  • Experience with economic analyses, preferably of energy efficiency and/or demand response programs. Significant experience with Excel and advanced Excel modeling tools. Information systems skills to design, develop, test and document new and enhanced systems.
  • Ability to lead groups and build consensus. Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
