Energy Efficiency Engineer - HVAC Solutions

The Energy Efficiency Engineer is responsible for managing complex or long-term engineering projects within budget and schedule. This role involves technical analysis, review, measurement, and verification of energy efficiency projects. Be part of Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our efforts!

Location: Remote role based in Florida with occasional travel to local job sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical analysis and project risk assessment for energy efficiency projects.
  • Perform building walkthroughs to identify energy conservation measures across various facilities.
  • Customize software and spreadsheets for technical results and presentations.
  • Conduct financial analyses including energy savings, payback periods, and lifecycle costs.
  • Coordinate with utility programs, perform calculations, onsite reviews, and post-installation verification.
  • Determine methods for measuring and verifying system performance.
  • Review project progress during construction and assess impact of changes.
  • Create energy models (TRACE, eQuest, DOE2) to evaluate energy savings.
  • Select preliminary equipment and design project layouts.
  • Analyze data outputs for trends and deviations.
  • Advise on new technologies and techniques for project implementation.
  • Review contract documents, conduct site surveys, and assist with cost estimates.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction through investigation and communication.
  • Participate in sales and project presentations.
  • Train staff on evaluation tools, energy programs, and HVAC concepts.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 6-8+ years of HVAC, controls, or electrical systems experience.

  • Experience with TRACE, eQuest, and DOE2.
