Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. seeks an Energy Educator to engage customers on energy use and install measures during home visits, including thermostats, LED bulbs, and insulation. You will document actions on a handheld tablet and coordinate with program databases.

This field-based role requires driving locally, interacting with customers, and advancing energy efficiency goals. Prior weatherization or energy efficiency experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Be a minimum of 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver's License with clean driving record.
• Ability to travel locally in company vehicles.
• Related training and/or experience in maintenance, weatherization and/or energy efficiency principals and techniques preferred.
• Customer service experience desired.
• 6 months - 1 year of utilities, HVAC, residential construction, energy knowledge or relevant experience.
• Building Science Principles Certification preferred, ability to obtain certification within 3-6 months, training will be provided.
• Physically able to bend, stoop, reach, and work in various home environments.
• Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.

JOB SUMMARY

The Energy Educator will engage in discussions with the customer about their energy use and tips for reducing energy consumption. This field-based position includes travel to the homes, meeting with the customer, installing measures such as lightbulbs and thermostats, completing paperwork, and using a handheld tablet to input energy saving measures accurately, recommendations and interface with multiple databases and outlook interfaces.

Individuals provided a conditional offer of employment for this position must successfully pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test and consent to the company obtaining a motor vehicle report evidencing a satisfactory driving record.
