Job summary

United Cooperative in Denmark, WI, is seeking a propane service technician to deliver and sell propane and energy products to members. The role requires setting up tanks, performing maintenance, and ensuring safety compliance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Follow safety, policy and regulatory standards to maintain zero preventable accidents.
• Maintain safety and compliance records.
• Set, repair and maintain tanks and cylinders; install first stage line; conduct system tests; ready installation for inspection.
• Maintain service vehicle by reviewing maintenance records; perform pre- and post-trip inspections; secure truck and equipment.
• Operate service vehicle per regulations; coordinate with Service Manager to confirm route and ensure supplies.
• Deliver fuel and meet performance metrics for time, productivity, and inventory usage.
• Work a flexible schedule with after-hours emergency callouts.
• Communicate clearly with customers to convey information.
• Maintain professional image and superior customer service.
• Notify Service Manager of issues affecting safety, customer satisfaction, productivity, and goals; work in a team environment.
• May be assigned other tasks at Supervisor’s/Manager’s discretion.

Position Summary:

Responsible for providing exceptional propane service to customers and delivering and selling propane and other energy products to United Cooperative’s members. Follow policies and procedures to ensure customer satisfaction for delivery and service.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Ensure that Company and Government safety, policy and regulatory standards are met and maintain zero preventable accidents.
• Maintain safety and compliance records.
• Set, repair and maintain tanks and cylinders, install first stage line, conduct system tests and ready installation for inspection.
• Maintain service vehicle by reviewing maintenance record, perform pre- and post-trip inspections. Secure truck and equipment consistent with security policy.
• Operate service vehicle in accordance with Company and government regulations. Coordinate with Service Manager to confirm route and ensure that adequate fuel and supplies are on hand.
• Deliver fuel as required and meet established performance standard metrics such as billable time, productivity and efficient usage of inventory and equipment.
• Work a flexible schedule with after-hours emergency callouts.
• Communicate clearly and effectively to convey information to new and existing customers.
• Maintain a professional image and superior customer service.
• Notifies Service Manager of any issues that might impact safety, customer satisfaction, productivity, and other established goals and standards, Succeed in a team-oriented environment.
• May be assigned other tasks at Supervisor’s/Manager’s discretion.

Qualifications:

• HS Graduate or equivalent. Tech/trade school training is a plus.
• Valid WI state driver license with an outstanding driving record, the ability to obtain a commercial driver license with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Excellent customer service skills and abilities.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop and get in and out of a truck multiple times a day.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather and driving conditions.
