Qualifications

  • Ability to translate technical or complex information into clear content for nontechnical audiences.

Its employees consistently rank Moss as one of the best places to work.POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACTThe Energy Communications Specialist is a key execution role for Moss' Energy business unit, creating compelling content and supporting communications that connect, inform and engage teammates across the nation's leading Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) firm. Reporting to the Director, Energy Communications, this role helps bring the Moss Energy story to life across internal and external channels for a large, geographically distributed workforce.This role develops content that reflects Moss Energy's people, projects, culture and accomplishments while supporting recurring employee communications, leader materials, field storytelling and external communications. The Specialist will work closely with project teams, superintendents, subject-matter experts and communications partners to find stories at the source and translate complex topics into clear, engaging content. This is a hands-on role for a curious, creative and organized communicator who is energized by getting into the business and delivering high-quality work at pace.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES· Develop and publish compelling content about Moss Energy's people, projects, culture and accomplishments across employee communications channels· Support recurring Energy communications and internal communications products, including project spotlights, employee recognition, field stories and business updates, ensuring content is clear, timely and aligned with established editorial standards· Interview teammates, project leaders and subject-matter experts and translate their experiences, technical information and project milestones into authentic, accessible stories· Regularly engage with Energy project teams to identify milestones, innovative work, teammate stories and other communications opportunities; help build a consistent pipeline of content from projects across the country· Travel to project sites to capture interviews, photos, short-form videos and other content that elevates the voices and experiences of Moss teammates· Support development of leader communications including presentations, talking points, FAQs, toolkits and materials for town halls, leadership meetings and employee engagement opportunities· Support and maintain the Energy BU editorial calendar in partnership with the Manager, Energy Communications, coordinating content deadlines, inputs and publishing needs· Support Energy communications channels and campaigns and help ensure content is adapted appropriately for field, remote and office-based teammates· Support project announcements, media materials, events, speaking opportunities and other external Energy communications in coordination with the Manager, Director and enterprise Communications teams· Conduct research and develop background materials, briefing documents and executive talking points; monitor relevant Energy industry developments for potential storytelling and thought-leadership opportunities· Maintain an organized library of Energy photos, video, stories and other communications assets and help maximize content across multiple channels· Support communications measurement and reporting; use basic analytics and audience feedback to help improve content and channel effectiveness· Use AI and emerging tools to improve the speed, quality and consistency of communications while maintaining strong editorial standardsWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR· A strong writer and natural storyteller who can find the human story behind the work and make complex information clear, relevant and engaging· A curious, proactive communicator who gets into the business to find stories rather than waiting for them to arrive· Comfortable engaging with craft workers, jobsite teams, project leaders, technical experts and executives and adapting approach for different audiences· Strong interviewing and visual storytelling instincts, with an eye for authentic moments that bring people, projects and culture to life· A hands-on teammate who enjoys creating, coordinating and publishing content across multiple channels· Strong organization and attention to detail - able to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, inputs and content assets at once· A collaborative, people-first teammate who builds relationships easily and works effectively across project teams and business functions· Good judgment and discretion when handling business information and communications that may be sensitive or time-sensitive· Embodies Moss' values: Work Hard, Be Nice, Have FunQUALIFICATIONS· Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, digital media or a related field· 3-5 years of communications, content, journalism or related experience· Excellent writing, editing and interviewing skills· Ability to translate technical or complex information into clear, compelling content for nontechnical audiences· Experience developing content for employee communications channels· Strong visual storytelling instincts; experience capturing or coordinating photography and short-form video preferred· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with communications platforms, content management systems or editorial tools· Experience in construction, energy, utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing or another technical or operational environment preferred· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and respond to time-sensitive communications needs· Ability and willingness to travel regularly to Moss Energy project sites and officesPOSITION DETAILSJob Title: Energy Communications SpecialistLocation: Fort Lauderdale, FLClassification: Full-Time | Exempt | SalariedReports To: Director, Energy CommunicationsMoss is an equal opportunity employer.
