Job summary

Google is seeking a Technical Program Manager in Kirkland, WA to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary energy finance projects for the Americas data center portfolio. You will plan requirements, identify risks, manage schedules, and present analyses to executives and engineers alike.

The role demands a technical degree and 5+ years in TPM, financial analytics, commercial structuring, or corporate strategy, with experience in energy transactions and energy agreements such as PPAs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial structuring analytics program and energy strategy for the Americas data center portfolio.
  • Evaluate energy transactions, partnerships, PPAs, and other energy agreements.
  • Maintain benchmarks for financial metrics and support deal teams with modeling and analytics.
  • Prepare and present agreements for approval with cross-functional partners in Accounting and Finance.
  • Contribute to automation of modeling tools and reduce repetitive manual work.

Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in technical program management, financial analytics, commercial structuring, or corporate strategy.
  • Experience developing investigative frameworks, maintaining financial benchmarks, and presenting agreement approval materials to cross‑functional stakeholders (e.g., Accounting, Finance).
Preferred qualifications
  • 5 years of experience in energy project or infrastructure project financial analytics and financial structuring and strategic analysis.
  • Experience leading, working, or supporting agreement negotiations and drafting in the infrastructure field, preferably power generation or power infrastructure.
  • Experience with financial analysis for energy transactions, including project financial modeling across various energy agreement types ranging from utility supply to PPAs, etc.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and with external partners.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross‑functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

In this role, you will support the financial analytics engine behind frameworks, partnerships, energy supply agreement, and generation strategy that underpin Google's Americas data center energy team. You will assist in financial and structuring analytics related to the negotiations and execution of energy agreement retail, wholesale, deregulated and regulated energy markets. You will track industry financial trends, maintain financial structuring benchmarks, support deal teams in financial analysis and modeling through transactions and strategic planning. As part of deal teams you will help prepare and present agreements for approval while ensuring alignment across accounting and finance partner teams.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $163000 - $236000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

  • Support the commercial structuring analytics program, helping to build energy strategy. Structure and evaluate energy agreements in support of the Americas data center portfolio.
  • Be responsible for assisting in the evaluation of transactions across partnerships, portfolio frameworks, utility energy supply, IPP energy supply, PPAs, and other types of energy agreements.
  • Assist in maintaining up-to-date benchmarks for industry standard financial metrics, project capex/opex benchmarks, etc.
  • Play a role in transactions, helping to shape deal teams’ approach to negotiations and structured solutions.
  • Prepare and present agreement approval materials and work with cross‑functional partners in Accounting, Finance, etc to align on a common set of agreement analytics and metrics. Help develop a standard set of modeling tools and focus on automation over repetitive, manual work.
