Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown, PC is seeking an Energy Audit Manager to lead audit engagements in our Houston, TX office. You will manage client engagements from planning to completion, ensuring quality and timely delivery, and oversee day-to-day audit operations.

The role requires CPA and 5+ years in upstream oil & gas audits, with GAAP expertise, supervisory skills, and the ability to travel as needed. You will collaborate with seniors, supervisors, and partners, mentor staff, and contribute to business

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; advanced degree preferred.
• CPA certification required; other professional certifications related to specialized service areas a plus.
• 5+ years of audit experience in upstream oil & gas; SEC experience a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards.
• Ability to maintain required CPE credits annually.
• Proficiency in Prosystem Fx Engagement and Microsoft Office; DAS a plus.
• Strong supervisory, organizational, problem-solving, written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong project management and presentation abilities.
• Ability to travel as needed.

• Teach the impact of new pronouncements to staff and keep the team compliant.
• Develop referral sources, support business development, and participate in community activities.
• Stay up to date on industry news, sharing knowledge with staff and seniors.
• Participate in mentoring, training, recruiting, retention, and team‑building activities.
• Serve as an instructor or discussion leader in professional development programs.
