Withum is seeking an Energy Audit Manager to lead audit engagements in our Houston, TX office.
Responsibilities
- Manage client engagements from planning to completion, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Oversee day‑to‑day audit operations including staffing, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting, and conclusion.
- Collaborate with seniors, supervisors, and partners on client issue resolution and provide recommendations on legal, regulatory, and accounting matters.
- Handle multiple engagements concurrently, maintaining schedules and budgets.
- Create and monitor engagement budgets, identifying inefficiencies and reporting them.
- Apply advanced technical knowledge to advise clients and resolve complex issues.
- Teach the impact of new pronouncements to staff and keep the team compliant.
- Develop referral sources, support business development, and participate in community activities.
- Stay up to date on industry news, sharing knowledge with staff and seniors.
- Participate in mentoring, training, recruiting, retention, and team‑building activities.
- Serve as an instructor or discussion leader in professional development programs.
Qualifications
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in accounting; advanced degree preferred.
- CPA certification required; other professional certifications related to specialized service areas a plus.
- 5+ years of audit experience with upstream oil & gas; public accounting and industry experience preferred; SEC experience a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards.
- Ability to maintain required CPE credits annually.
- Proficiency in Prosystem Fx Engagement, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with DAS a plus.
- Excellent supervisory, organizational, problem‑solving, written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong project management and presentation abilities.
- Ability to travel as needed.
