Responsibilities

We have an immediate opening for an Energy Associate with four to six years of experience preferred. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives at the intersection of commercial contracting, renewable energy development, and complex infrastructure projects. The candidate will draft, negotiate, and review the core agreements that drive renewable energy projects forward, including EPC agreements, PPAs/offtake agreements, major equipment supply contracts, and long‑term O&M or service agreements. The candidate will work primarily with attorneys in our Energy & Natural Resources Strategic Business Unit.


Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials, a commitment to the community, superior interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated record of working well under pressure. They should demonstrate exceptional judgment, the ability to handle multiple projects, and articulate legal strategies and courses of action. Candidates should have an active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which they are applying or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible. We look for proactive, dynamic, and entrepreneurial individuals with varied backgrounds, interests, and experience for a diverse candidate pool.


Compensation and Benefits

We offer competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k). The compensation range for this position in Colorado, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, and Washington is $230,000-$260,000; in California, New York, and Washington, D.C. is $240,000-$265,000; in Minnesota and Vermont is $215,000-$246,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salaries in all other markets vary depending on market data. Associates are eligible for an Associate Performance Bonus and Client Development Bonus.
