Job summary

The Brattle Group seeks an Energy Analyst Intern to support project teams focused on financial economics, energy markets, and regulatory economics. You will build quantitative models using Excel, R, Python, and other tools, conduct literature reviews, and prepare client deliverables.

You will work with senior consultants, learning to manage analyses and timelines while contributing to expert reports and developing practical research and communication skills in a collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• GPA of 3.7 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale).

Responsibilities

• Analyze electricity, energy markets and apply insights to financial, legal, and policy contexts.
• Build quantitative, financial, statistical, and operational models using multiple tools.
• Coauthor publications and participate in client presentations.
• Communicate research findings to project teams and clients clearly.
• Develop, maintain and run power system models (capacity expansion, security-constrained production costs).
• Conduct regulatory and policy research, summarizing insights from literature reviews.
• Think critically about results and discuss findings with the internal team.
