Job summary

The Brattle Group in Boston is seeking an Energy Analyst Intern (Economics) for Summer 2027 to apply quantitative methods to energy markets and regulatory economics. You will work closely with senior consultants in a multidisciplinary environment and contribute to client deliverables and expert reports.

You will build models using Excel, R, Python, and other tools, perform literature reviews, and help prepare memos and presentations for clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. economics, computer science, data science, mathematics) with strong academics.
• GPA 3.7 or higher (based on a 4.0 scale) is typical for applicants.
• Strong teamwork and leadership skills for team-based project work.
• Intellectual curiosity and creativity with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Build quantitative models and data-based solutions using Excel, R, Python, GAMS, Stata and VBA.
• Conduct qualitative energy market research and literature reviews to support reports.
• Contribute to client deliverables, including presentations and memos with clear figures and results.
• Assist experts in preparing reports and presentations for regulatory or legal contexts.
• Collaborate with team members at all levels to develop robust, innovative solutions.
• Develop and maintain power system models and conduct regulatory and policy research.
