Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation is seeking an Energy Logistics Analyst I to join our team in a hybrid role within the service territory. You will forecast natural gas demand, support procurement strategies, and manage tariff-based systems while enhancing controls and reporting.

The role requires 0-2 years of related experience, a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience, and solid Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; in lieu of degree, equivalent work experience considered.
• 0-2 years of experience in business administrative duties or related experience.
• Natural gas supply, energy or analyst experience preferred.
• Knowledge of business and management principles in planning, resource allocation, modeling and coordination.
• Understand SOX control narratives and the risks they cover.
• Basic knowledge of natural gas markets.
• High attention to detail and ability to learn energy management.
• Intermediate Excel; basic Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Ability to think critically and solve complex problems.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to understand, interpret and use data ethically.

Responsibilities

• Forecast natural gas demand.
• Support short-term supply and storage procurement strategies.
• Suggest changes to SOX narratives to address control deficiencies.
• Prepare work papers and reports for regulatory filings, rate cases and reporting obligations.
• Evaluate capacity holdings.
• Invoice reconciliations.
• Investigate data variances and propose solutions.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist team with 3rd party supply and transportation programs.
• Cultivate off-system sales transactions and programs.
• Manage the applicable LDC system per tariff provisions.
• Suggest tariff rule changes to streamline and improve competitiveness.
• Champion process improvements and efficiencies.
• Additional duties as assigned.
