Job Opening: Energy Analyst – Traded Markets & ISO Regulatory

Location: Houston, TX (on-site, full-time)

Salary: $95,000 – $130,000 base + performance bonus & full benefits

A growing energy company in Houston is seeking a highly analytical Energy Analyst to join its commercial and regulatory team. This is a unique opportunity to work hands-on with traded power markets and ISO protocols, supporting market operations, asset onboarding, regulatory compliance, and trading analytics across a diverse portfolio of renewable and conventional generation assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Analytics & Trading Support

  • Analyze nodal and hub pricing, congestion, and forward curves across ERCOT, PJM, MISO, and CAISO.
  • Provide data-driven insights to support trading strategies and asset optimization.
  • Track hedge positions and asset profitability through scenario modeling and analytics.

ISO Regulatory & Asset Registration

  • Lead/support asset registration and qualification processes with ISOs.
  • Prepare regulatory filings and ensure compliance with interconnection and telemetry requirements.
  • Monitor and interpret ISO protocol changes affecting operations and market outcomes.

Operational & Compliance Support

  • Interface with internal stakeholders to maintain accurate ISO configurations and data integrity.
  • Support SCADA/telemetry testing, commissioning, and ongoing compliance efforts.
  • Prepare internal and external reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in Engineering, Economics, Finance, or related field

3–6 years of experience in U.S. power markets (ERCOT preferred)

Working knowledge of ISO market structures and asset registration processes

Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and analytical tools such as Python, R, or Power BI

Strong understanding of LMP pricing, congestion, and market settlements

Preferred Experience:

Experience with storage or renewable assets

Familiarity with telemetry systems and SCADA protocols

Direct interaction with ISO/RTOs and consultants

Real-time analytics or trading strategy development
