IS4S is seeking to hire experienced Energetics Engineers to support a Navy for a variety of large government-funded projects, primarily focused on providing manufacturing, engineering, and technical expertise related to energetics development and manufacturing in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) mission. The customer operates and services a range of energetic technical development centers, product manufacturing facilities, and equipment.
We are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter, a collaborative leader, and open to finding new ways to solve challenging program problems. In addition to outstanding program support, we focus on developing modular open systems that enable rapid prototyping and manufacturing efficiencies in support of deploying real-world systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute NSWC IHD Program Plans to establish and track objectives throughout the manufacturing maturity systems lifecycle.
- Create and maintain customer awareness to support system design, development, and testing.
- Develop plans to ensure effective testing and diagnosing of system components.
- Support reporting, analysis, and corrective actions to identify, analyze, and resolve CRs/gaps in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with industry, government, and SETA engineering teams to implement changes into integration and development processes for manufacturing.
- Support analyses to evaluate system performance under different operational conditions.
- Participate in root cause analysis investigations and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and reliability and reduce maintenance requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging trends in IH procedures and engineering.
Basic Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Indian Head experience and relevant Mil-STD-xxx knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 10 years of experience or Master's in Engineering with 4 years of experience or equivalent in a related field.
- 3+ years of experience within the defense industry.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering and IH procedures.
- Proficiency in developing and executing Program Plans.
- Experience with safety requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to conduct root cause analysis.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for security clearance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work closely with a small, agile development team.
- Active SECRET security clearance.
Desired Experience:
- Experience in DoD energetics related to weapons development or integration.
- Knowledge of energetics and munitions.
- ME, EE, or ChemE with knowledge of the ECMP.
- Experience with energetic materials, including chemicals, munitions, propellants, explosives, pyrotechnics, and related hazardous materials.
- Experience in engineering disciplines, scientific roles, program and personnel management.
- Deep experience in laboratory/testing support, safety support, energetics manufacturing support, or design support.
- Prior military service.
