Job summary

Dogwood Veterinary Hospital & Pet Resort in Chapel Hill is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and provide outstanding patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor hospital.

The role includes restraining animals during examinations, stocking exam and surgery rooms with supplies, sterilizing tools, updating patient files, and communicating with clients. On-site presence is essential, with flexible hours and some weekends expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service within a veterinary or healthcare setting is preferred.
• Candidate must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and assist with patient handling.
• Excellent communication, reliability, and teamwork are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures.
• Restrain animals when necessary and ensure patient safety.
• Stock examination and surgery rooms with supplies and maintain sterilization of tools.
• Update and maintain patient files and communicate with clients.
