Job summary

Karman Space & Defense in Utah is seeking an Energetics Operations Technician I to support production of propellants and related materials. You will follow safety procedures, perform basic arithmetic for material handling, and work under the Line Supervisor to maintain flow.

The role requires standing, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and a commitment to quality documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Executes propellant manufacturing tasks by adding, mixing, and handling chemicals according to established procedures and manufacturing worksheets.
  • Performs production line functions under the direction of the Line Supervisor to support daily operational needs.
  • Operates light equipment such as dollies, drum rollers, scales, paint shakers, and vibration machinery as required.
  • Applies quality control methods to verify materials and products meet required standards using proper quality documentation.
  • Identifies and reports defective materials or equipment issues to the supervisor to maintain production integrity.
  • Follows departmental policies, procedures, and continuous quality improvement objectives.
  • Performs basic arithmetic and measurement tasks needed for accurate material handling and mixing.
  • Supports line operations independently when needed and maintains safe, compliant work practices.
  • Receives, stocks, and delivers materials or goods to support production flow.
  • Performs other related duties as needed.

This role is part of our Tactical Missiles and Integrated Defense Systems business, which designs and develops integrated missile and defense systems that support critical missions across air, land, and sea. The Energetics Operations Technician I supports production activities by safely manufacturing propellant, handling chemicals, and operating light equipment to meet detailed manufacturing requirements. This role helps maintain production flow, ensure product quality, and uphold strict safety and documentation standards in a high-paced environment.

Schedule
  • The work schedule follows a 4×10 configuration: Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with every other Friday off.
