Job summary

Regional YMCA is seeking staff to supervise children aged 6 months to 12 years and help plan engaging, safe activities. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean learning environment, supporting substitutes, and communicating with parents and supervisors.

The role emphasizes health and safety, timely interactions, and a positive classroom atmosphere, with flexibility to cover shifts and sub as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability and desire to work with children ages 6 months to 12 years of age.
• Interpersonal communication skills a must when interacting with children and parents.
• Minimum age 18 years (sixteen-year-olds may be considered with maturity).
• Able to lift over 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the health and safety of children at all times.
• Planning safe, stimulating, age-appropriate activities.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom.
• Obtains substitutes when necessary and notifies Supervisor.
• Maintains discipline and supports positive morale within the program.
• Assists children in performing tasks as necessary.
• Communicates professionally with team members, parents, and supervisors.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in Y sponsored functions.
