Job summary

A family in North Beach is seeking an organized, detail-oriented family assistant to provide childcare and help with household tasks. Their 6-year-old attends school nearby; responsibilities include driving, play, and light household duties.

The ideal candidate is reliable, boundary-conscious, and comfortable with routines. Schedule offers 28 hours/week (could flex to 30) with potential additional hours and standard benefits.

Qualifications

• 2 years minimum experience working as a family assistant with excellent verifiable references.
• Fluency in English is required; Spanish or Portuguese proficiency preferred.
• COVID vaccination and booster recommended; TB and Tdap exams are preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record; reliable vehicle for family driving.
• Able to manage routines and anticipate family needs.
• Comfortable with walking stairs in a hilly neighborhood and setting boundaries with children.
• Long-term commitment of at least one year.

Responsibilities

• Provide childcare for a 6-year-old boy.
• Drive to/from school and activities.
• Engage in play and outings to the local park.
• Perform family laundry and light tidying.
• Organize kids' clothing, toys, pantry and closets.
• Shop and stock groceries; run errands (e.g., dry cleaning, returns).
• Prepare simple meals as needed.
