Endoscopy Technician/UKHC role at Inside Higher Ed. Requisition Number: RE50650. Working Title: Endoscopy Technician. Department Name: H6200: Diagnostic Services. Work Location: Lexington, KY. Grade Level: 07. Salary Range: $17.50-27.31/hour. Type Of Position: Staff. Position Time Status: Full-Time.

Job Summary

This position will assist the physician (gastroenterologist, pulmonologist, and/or surgeon) in general and advanced endoscopy procedures with a high degree of efficiency; position and transport patients; prepare the procedural rooms using clean and aseptic techniques; maintain supplies and materials; actively participate in goals of the work unit; and demonstrate excellent customer service.

  • Skills / Knowledge / Abilities: Proficient in basic and advanced endoscopy procedures; direct patient care experience; excellent attention to detail; strong planning and organizational skills; effective written and verbal communication; problem solving and resource management; experience with materials/resource management.
  • Preferred Education/Experience: 1-2 years of related experience preferred.
Work Details
  • Shift: Four 10-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, with some on-call and weekends as required per business needs.
Physical Requirements

The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 50-100 pounds on a daily basis; ability to stand, walk and sit for long periods; work may involve exposure to communicable diseases and injury from intractable patients or sharp instruments.
