Job summary

MyMichigan Health is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to perform sterilization and reprocessing of endoscopes and related equipment in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role includes assisting clinicians during procedures, maintaining detailed documentation, and ensuring proper sanitation of operating rooms and equipment between cases. Strong adherence to safety protocols and competency requirements is required.

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills needed to communicate with individuals and groups in a medical setting.
• Knowledge of Universal Precautions and sterile techniques.
• Organizational skills to prioritize daily workload and maintain accuracy.
• Flexible scope reprocessing certification for full-time Endoscopy Technicians after 2 years is preferred.
• Completion of yearly unit competency requirements is expected.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, air leak tests, disinfects/sterilizes all scopes and equipment in accordance with policy.
• Assist nurse and physician in treatment room with patient care and equipment.
• Maintain documentation records of reprocessing and sterilization per regulatory agencies.
• Sanitize OR rooms after cases, stock areas with supplies, and restock anesthesia equipment.
• Assist in maintenance of procedural equipment and coordination with departments to ensure availability of functioning gear.
