Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to join the procedural area team. The role requires assisting the endoscopist during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, preparing equipment, and ensuring patient safety throughout pre-, intra-, and post-procedural care.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, BLS, and GI/endoscopy certification activities, with a commitment to infection control and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of patient- and family-centered care.
• Cultural awareness and ability to work with diverse populations.
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey information clearly.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in procedures.
• Knowledge of clinical policies and infection control.
• BLS and AHA certifications.
• CER - Certified Endoscope Reprocessor certification.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with coworkers, visitors, and staff per Jefferson Health values.
• Assists endoscopist with anatomical understanding and procedure prep.
• Assists with diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
• Prepares and collects specimens.
• Supports emergent procedures in endoscopy suite, OR or ICU.
• Responsible for setup, use, troubleshooting and maintenance of complex equipment.
• Adheres to high-level disinfection reprocessing and infection control guidelines.
• On-call may be required outside of normal hours.
