Job summary

This PRN position requires strong interpersonal skills and HIPAA compliance. Minimum education includes a high school diploma or GED with on‑the‑job training and a Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with on‑the‑job training.
• Certificate or an associate degree in medical assisting or surgical technology.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and ability to protect patient information.

Responsibilities

• Conducts preventative maintenance on equipment and assists in endoscopy procedures.
• Maintains endoscopic equipment, ensures cleanliness and proper disinfection per procedures.
• Assists physicians and nurses during endoscopic procedures and patient monitoring.
• Delivers specimens to appropriate locations and restocks supplies.
• Maintains organized work areas and procedure rooms and helps transport patients and equipment.
• Assists in positioning the patient and supports the procedure room staff as needed.
• Adheres to security/privacy policies and reports breaches; completes required trainings.
