Job summary

HCA HealthONE Aurora is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to assist with GI and endoscopy procedures, ensure sterile equipment, and support physicians and nurses in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Ideal candidates will have EMT or Paramedic certification and BLS, with endoscopy experience and strong communication skills to interact with patients and staff effectively.

Qualifications

• EMT or Paramedic Certification preferred.
• BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
• Endoscopy Experience Preferred.
• Knowledge of basic clinical practices, procedures, and standards.
• Ability to work closely with physician and Nursing.
• Working knowledge and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
• Excellent communication skills with all internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Preparing procedure rooms and endoscopy equipment, verifying equipment is in proper working order, and keeping supplies organized and stocked.
• Positioning and transporting patients safely and comfortably while using proper body mechanics.
• Supporting physicians and nurses during procedures, including handling instruments and collecting specimens.
• Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing endoscopy equipment, and keeping accurate records for quality and safety.
• Communicating with kindness and compassion to patients and families, keeping them informed, and supporting their privacy and comfort.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As an Endoscopy Technician, you’ll play an important role in helping provide safe, effective procedures to patients undergoing GI and endoscopy procedures. Your careful work preparing equipment and maintaining a clean, well-organized environment will help protect patients and empower caregivers to deliver on our shared mission to improve more lives in more ways.

This position supports the mission of HCA HealthONE Aurora of optimizing quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for assisting the medical and nursing staffs in providing care to the endoscopy patient. The endoscopy technician is also responsible for care and maintenance of endoscopy equipment. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing procedure rooms and endoscopy equipment, verifying equipment is in proper working order, and keeping supplies organized and stocked
• Helping position and transport patients safely and comfortably while using proper body mechanics to protect both patients and yourself
• Supporting physicians and nurses during procedures, including handling instruments, collecting specimens, and following proper safety practices
• Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing endoscopy equipment, and keeping accurate records for quality and safety
• Communicating with kindness and compassion to patients and families, keeping them informed, and supporting their privacy and comfort throughout their care

What qualifications you will need:

Licensure/Certification/Registration:

EMT or Paramedic Certification preferred. BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required

Experience:

Endoscopy Experience Preferred.
