Job summary

United Digestives is seeking an Endoscopy Technician in Midtown Atlanta, GA to support patient care and maintain endoscopy equipment. You will assist with instrument reprocessing, basic clinical tasks, and front office duties as assigned, under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and CPT/CFER credentials if available, with potential for 2 years endoscopy experience in lieu of certification. Proficiency with MS Office and healthcare systems is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Certified Medical Assistant or the equivalent required, a minimum of 2 years of endoscopy experience may be considered in lieu of certification.
• Certified Flexible Endoscopy Reprocessor (CFER) preferred.
• Endoscopy Technician must be computer literate and able to operate various healthcare systems and multiple Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Assists with direct patient care under supervision of a registered nurse.
• Explains procedures and sensations to patient and provides instructions to minimize discomfort.
• Sets up equipment for procedures and ensures supplies are available.
• Assists physician with procedures as directed.
• Takes and records vital signs.
• Reports patient findings to supervisor or RN promptly.
• Cleans and maintains endoscopes according to manufacturers guidelines.
• Maintains supplies in procedure and pre/post-op areas.
• Reports broken equipment for repair and maintains equipment counts.
