MU Health Care is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to support critical procedures in a fast-paced hospital environment at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. The role involves pre-procedure setup, instrument maintenance, scope handling, and collaboration with physicians, RNs, and the endoscopy team.

The position requires a high school diploma and CFER certification within two years, with opportunities for clinical experience in nursing support roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CFER certification within two years as condition of continued employment.
• Preferred: Clinical experience as CNA/Patient Care Tech/Surgical Technician or similar.

Responsibilities

• Complete pre-procedure room setup for endoscopy.
• Assist physicians with specimen management and labeling.
• Communicate key procedural elements to the RN with the physician.
• Handle and clean endoscopes; report damage and remove from service as needed.
• Maintain endoscopic instruments and anticipate endoscopist needs.
• Keep rooms clean, follow infection control and SGNA guidelines.
• Manage supplies and participate in room turnover and inventory.
• Support department quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
