Job summary

UMass Memorial Health, a major health system in Central Massachusetts, is seeking an Endoscopy Technician to perform routine and advanced technical duties under physicians and nurses. You will prepare rooms, reprocess endoscopes and accessories, and maintain stock for the Endoscopy Suite.

Requires a high school diploma with specialized training and at least two years of relevant experience; SGNA certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of relevant experience required.
• Knowledge of patient care, endoscopy procedures and GI anatomy.
• Advanced knowledge of endoscopic procedures.
• Flexible with scheduling.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Good judgment, discretion and communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Surgical Instrument technician or Central Sterile Technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares procedure rooms for endoscopic procedures and assists with patient transfer.
• Assembles equipment and ensures proper functioning of devices.
• Assists physicians with endoscopic procedures and collects specimens.
• Supports routine and emergency procedures as assigned.
• Assists with hemostatic instruments as needed.
